Have you ever wondered how it is possible to get the freshness that fills your suite making you and your family feel so relaxed? Or the bed sheets and linens at Banyan Bay Suites’ so pressed and perfect? It makes us wonder, does the Housekeeping department have a secret? This month, we will feature our eldest and veteran housekeeper, Juana Nunez, to learn more about her integral role and her recipe for the ultimate cleanliness.
“Juanita”, as affectionately known, hails from El Salvador and joined the resort team as a cleaner back in 2003, soon after relocating from her birth country. Since then, Juana has grown into a very integral part of our housekeeping team, bringing with her attention to detail and a desire to motivate others to work every day. “When I started my career, we (the resort) only had 6 rooms total and presently we have close to 30. We have a great team, I enjoy the challenging aspects and the physical nature of helping to maintain the properties for the guests”, exclaimed Juana when asked about her tenure and role.
Juana’s day-to-day tasks include; ensuring that all her tasks are dealt with effectively and efficiently. She uses proactive leadership and good time management to ensure that the standards of cleanliness and presentation in the guest rooms are always upheld to an exemplary level. “Banyan Bay is a lovely place where you find great people and residents – I look forward to coming in each day, stated Juana, smiling.”
To many of her co-workers, Juana is considered a humble, conservative but very hard worker. “She is splendid and truly one of the best maids we’ve had at our resort. She is hardworking, respectful and a very nice person”, stated senior Accountant, Assir Tzul.
Outside of her demanding role, Juana enjoys cooking, listening to music and family time with her adult children.
