Aeromexico’s new non-stop flight to and from Belize has just made it a lot more convenient for travelers needing a quick mini-vacation, meeting up with an associate or to attend a family’s special occasion. This new non-stop flight from Mexico’s Benito Juarez International Airport to the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport is available to passengers on Saturday and Sundays until April 28th, 2019, announced the Belize Tourism Board last week.
After more than 11 years serving the region, Aeromexico has now become the only airline in Mexico to have a presence in all Central American countries including Honduras and Belize. The new route is operated with Embraer 190 airplanes that consists of 99 passenger seats, including 11 in Premier Class, Aeromexico’s Business Class cabin.
Belize is now Aeromexico’s ninth destination in the Central American region and the 46th destination in their international route network that will help increase tourism in belize by providing connectivity from both countries. Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Manuel Heredia expressed at the inaugural flight ceremony that “these flight is the result of warm and exceptionally strong relations between our two countries and will open greater opportunities for Mexicans and Belizeans alike.”
Belize is rapidly becoming a popular destination for Mexican travelers. Available statistics reveal that there were 9,060 visitors from Mexico in 2017 representing an increase of 51.5% over 5,982 in 2016 and these figures are expected to soar even higher with the new direct service. Sales Director at Banyan Bay Suites, Almira Zul says “this new direct-flight will definitely help strengthen and grow the industry and promote Belize as a high-quality tourist destination this holiday season and we welcome all to our shores.”
This new flight will also provide an alternative route for travelers from the UK, France, the Netherlands, Europe and the wider Central American region, wishing to access Belize.
